With its perfectly-realized art style and a wide variety of puzzles that never break its themes, The Bridge takes its inspiration and runs an impressive distance with it. The developer has produced a charming, inventive, and only occasionally aggravating puzzle experience that I hope Escher would feel honored by.

Even a couple years after its release, though, The Bridge is one of the better examples of 2D puzzle games available right now. It’s a shame that frustration can sometimes break the trance induced by the wonderful art and design, but that shouldn’t keep you from exploring this unique black-and-white world.

Escher meets Braid in a puzzle game that’s weird but not weird enough. Its imaginative environments and beautiful soundtrack do mean it’s worth taking a trip to this beguiling dreamworld.
