About Split/Second

Split/Second is an action racing game set within a reality TV show developed by Black Rock Studio. Compete in a made-for-TV city set ready to blow up at any time, players don’t just collide with other vehicles to knock them off the track, but it can also trigger a devastating chain of events that can drastically change what the track looks like.

• The city itself can be your weapon, triggering explosive events lined throughout the tracks, distinctly altering the dynamics of the race.
• Each lap will be different, make use of pinpoint timing to obliterate huge structures and towering TV set pieces to tactically alter the track or create entirely new routes.

Even if racing games aren’t typically your thing, Split/Second offers enough action and fun to recommend to everyone.

Unfortunately, this game suffers from being a little too shallow, and after playing the same tracks over and over, it’s a little too easy to tire of the game after the main story mode has been completed. Still, I would hope that there will be a sequel to this title, as the premise is solid. The execution just needs a little fleshing out.

Fortunately, Split/Second is the mark of a team who have finally honed their ideas into the sleeper hit of the year, although ‘craziest, most bombastically thrilling hit of the year’ may be more appropriate.
