About Gord

Gord is a survival role-playing real-time strategy game developed by Covenant.dev lead the people of the tribe of Dawn as they venture deep into the forbidden lands. Complete quests that shape the personalities of the inhabitants of your town. Ensure the survival of your populace in this grim dark world inspired by Slavic folklore.

• Develop structures and grow your population from a humble settlement to a formidable fortress.
• Take it easy or set a very hard challenge; almost anything can be adjusted! From the variety of primary objectives, level size, the intensity of raids, the types of enemies you will face, etc.
• The survival of your village is dependent on the sanity of your villagers, which can be affected by several factors, such as illness, hunger, and the death of kin.
• Gain access to spellcasting abilities by pleasing the gods. This incantation can vary in nature some are offensive, others are defensive.
• Collect as many pages of the chronicle as possible, giving dedicated players an additional challenge of discovery, providing insights into the origins of the Gods, and ancient factions within the game’s lore.

The gameplay loop is easy to immerse yourself in, and you will get from the story what you put into it, but some rough edges prevent Gord from hitting the big leagues.

Gord isn’t the deepest of city builders, and its campaign can sometimes feel like an extended tutorial, but nevertheless, it provides an engaging mix of city building and exploration. With its sanity system and pesky Horrors that need to be dealt with, there’s not much else like this around. Jump into its Custom Scenario mode with both feet, and you’ll likely find a game that will eat up hours of your time.

Gord is a richer and more complex game than it first appears. There are interesting layers of moral ambiguity and mental health to consider. Gord is a dark Slavic folk tale in a survival/RTS game disguise. Its mechanics and systems add up to an engaging gameplay experience. For a modest entry price, Gord provides a lot of entertainment, an engaging story, and plenty of replay value via customizable scenarios.
