About this game

Citizen Sleeper is a cyberpunk-themed narrative focus game whose systems are inspired by modern TTRPGs developed by Jump Over The Age known for their previous work on “In Other Waters”. Step into the shoes of an escaped worker more specifically a digitized consciousness of a human trapped in an artificial body otherwise known as a sleeper, on the run from the company that owns you, you find yourself on a lawless station at the edge of interplanetary society the Erlin’s Eye, full of colorful inhabitants and dangerous characters. You will need to build friendships, earn your keep, and navigate the various factions that rule this station if you hope to survive.

• This abandoned station is on the brink of a crisis. Rundown, chaotic, and unruly it was founded by idealists right after the corporate collapse. Now it is held together by anarchic alliances, ramshackle organization, and a shared desire to live outside of corporate control. But how long will they last?
• Every cycle you get to choose what you want to do with your time. Toil in the yards, take a break, search markets for important components, grab some street food, make or break alliances, uncover hidden truths, and further cover your tracks and escape those who hunt you.
• The station plays host to characters from all walks of life, doing all they can to survive among the stars salvagers, engineers, hackers, bartenders, and street-food hawkers, each person has a story to tell about how they ended up here, it’s up to you who you want to help and antagonize.
• Use your technical skills to hack into the station and gain access to its cloud data, uncover new areas, and unlock never seen secrets. As a sleeper, this is your unique power and with it, you can change the station’s future. From corporate secrets, rogue AI, and troves of other lost data are yours to discover if you are willing to look for them.

Citizen Sleeper is rich with ideas and atmosphere and loves to tease you into its world. Don’t be put off by the text-heavy gameplay if you enjoy a dystopian sci-fi setting with solid worldbuilding and some tight role-play mechanics.

Those who enjoy a good narrative adventure will want to consider picking up Citizen Sleeper. It’s a very humble game in a lot of ways, but there’s plenty to dig into here if you give it a shot. The range of choices allowed me to feel like I had some agency over my character and their new life, and the dice mechanic added a pleasant random element to keep things interesting.
