Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky DX is a Japanese role-playing game originally developed by Gust, remastered by KOEI TECMO GAMES CO., LTD., the fifteenth game in the main Atelier series, and the second game in the Dusk/Twilight series, telling the story of a world on the verge of ruin from the perspective of a new cast of unique characters. Within the western reaches of the land of dusk, there exists a nation that has prospered through its use of alchemy. To survive the inevitable arrival of the Dusk End, the alchemists have devoted their lives to rediscovering the technologies of the past.

• Choose between two protagonists, Escha’s story is more familiar with fans of the previous games and involves many daily-life scenarios, whilst Logy’s story involves more serious scenarios.

Whenever a game re-releases for a newer console, there’s always the question of “Is it worth getting again?” I don’t think I’ve ever answered no to any Atelier re-release and Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea DX is no different. The series has too many nuances in the synthesizing and combat systems for me to ever say a title is not worth replaying. There might be mechanics you miss from releases after Shallie, but you certainly can’t go wrong with picking this up again. It’s polished, hosts an intriguing cast of characters (both new and returning), and has plenty of milestones to look forward to that you’d be missing out on if you didn’t try it.
