Just when we thought EA and Battlefield Studios couldn’t get gamers more excited for Battlefield 6, they can. With the open beta done, everyone is now just waiting for the game’s launch in October. But then it turns out, we don’t have to wait that long to play the game again. Battlefield Labs is back, packed with more features than last time.

Battlefield Labs Returns: What To Expect?

EA announced that with the amazing feedback they got from the highly-successful Battlefield 6 open beta, they were able to polish the game even more. And since they probably don’t fancy failing again (ahem, 2042!) as it would probably do the franchise, they are making sure that the changes are what the community wants.

EA has been clear with getting the community involved with the creation of Battlefield games and that’s why they established Battlefield Labs back in February. That “ended” when open beta went live but has now been resurrected and is looking for more players to join and test out new features that will be part of the game which were unavailable when Labs started.

According to the announcement, the testing will focus on the early versions of the Portal and Server Browser within the Community tab. The goal is to assess functionality and usability, with players experiencing a limited set of features to ensure stability and interface clarity. Custom Community Experiences and full Portal building will not be available in these sessions. Players will test hosting and browsing servers, setting up their own servers, altering descriptions, and using tags and filters to explore active servers.

The primary aim is to validate the ease of server management and ensure scalability. Feedback will also be gathered on the tagging and filtering systems, helping the developers refine the experience before the full launch.

Battlefield Labs will also focus on game balance, especially in large-scale combat across maps like Operation Firestorm and Mirak Valley. Players will provide feedback on vehicles, gadgets, and gameplay balance in these new maps. This phase will also finalize the settings for Hardcore mode.
