Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Spotted Online: Ubisoft to Announce Remake at The Game Awards 2025?

Ubisoft could be about to officially announce the long-rumored Black Flag remake after fans spotted a listing online on the Pan European Game Information (PEGI) ratings board website for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

After years of rumors that Ubisoft is developing an Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake, fans believe the company could finally announce it after Black Flag Resynced appeared on the PEGI website before being taken down.

If the rumors are true, Ubisoft might be preparing a massive reveal for The Game Awards 2025, which begins on Thursday, December 11.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: The PEGI Leak Explained

Ubisoft has yet to confirm or officially announce a remake of the 2013 action-adventure game. However, with the new Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced rating, it appears fans are closer than ever to it. The game’s PEGI website lists it as 18 for violence, bad language, and in-game purchases.

The quick appearance of the game’s listing follows actor Matt Ryan, who played protagonist Edward Kenway in the original, claiming that fans will “have to beat it again” earlier this year, before also claiming that Ubisoft threatened him with legal action.

Why The Game Awards 2025?

Time is everything in the gaming industry. With the holiday season fast approaching, Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards 2025 is the perfect opportunity for a major reveal and announcement, as millions of fans watch.

It also makes sense for Ubisoft to announce a potential remake or remaster before the end of the year, as the company recently revealed in its earnings report that it has an “unannounced title” yet to release before the end of the fiscal year on March 31, 2025.

A Return to the Golden Age

It’s been over a decade since Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag launched, and many fans consider it the best in the series. Since then, Ubisoft has failed to capture the excitement of its naval warfare in Skull and Bones, leaving fans further clamoring for a Black Flag remake.

Black Flag’s Caribbean setting is a vibrant and dangerous one that lends well to the series’ classic stealth-focused gameplay and compelling pirate fantasy, thanks to the charismatic Edward Kenway and the immersive experience provided by seamless transitions between open sea sailing and island exploration.

Expectations for The Game Awards Reveal

If Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is announced at The Game Awards 2025, it will be another win for Ubisoft following the recent success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which has reignited interest in the series after the franchise went through a period of stagnation. Now, we just have to wait for Geoff Keighley to take the stage on December 11.
