Amazon Multiplayer Game ‘King of Meat’ Shutting Down After 6 Months from Launch
Amazon announced that King of Meat is shutting down its servers on April 9, 2026. The game has already been delisted from stores.
Amazon is shutting down another one of its games and this time, it’s King of Meat. In an official announcement, the team confirms that the game is immediately delisted on all storefronts and will shutdown the servers in April. Good news though, all players who bought the game will receive a full refund.

It wasn’t so long ago when Amazon was pretty aggressive with its moves in the gaming industry. And then almost in a snap of a finger, decided to take a different direction. Prime Gaming rebranded, multiple studios closed, layoffs happened, and many live-service games shut down. And the latest to get the axe? King of Meat.
King of Meat is an online co-op multiplayer game designed for 1-4 players. It launched in October 2025 and while Amazon did a great deal of promotions including a Gamescom trailer and even a Mr Beast promo video, it failed to (not even to keep) secure a significant player base.
As of writing, and that’s four months from launch, the all-time peak is only 320 players. Amazon or not, this number for a live service game only means a shutdown is imminent.
So it wasn’t a surprise when the King of Meat team announced that the servers will permanently go offline on April 9, 2026. Alongside this, the game was immediately pulled from all storefronts which made sense since they also shared that all players who own the game will receive a full refund. The delisting date was February 23 and the refund processing has started today, February 24.
In-game purchases of Stamps have also been disabled but for those who still have them in their account, it can be used until the shutdown date. With all these, it also goes without saying that there will not be any content updates from now til the end.
King of Meat officially launched on October 2, 2025 for PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Playstation 5. It was initially planned to release on Switch as well.
