Woochi the Wayfarer is the new action RPG being developed by the team at LoreVault. This is a development team within Nexon Games working on an ambitious project known since February as “2XTF.” It’s taking us to a fantasy version of the historical Joseon Era in Korea.

It’s a new IP with a strong Korean identity, lining up with what CEO Park Yong-hyun stated at the Nexon Developers Conference in late June. It looks to be an action-adventure game with an approach similar to what we’ve seen with Black Myth: Wukong from Game Science. Woochi the Wayfarer – The Reveal of Nexon’s New Action RPG

With a surprise announcement on August 11, 2025, the Nexon Games team revealed Woochi the Wayfarer for the first time. A new action RPG developed by the internal team at LoreVault, taking us to the Joseon Era of Korea. The announcement came with a CGI Reveal Trailer.

They showed off an intriguing and incredible trailer that transports us to a fantasy version of the Joseon Era based on Korean folklore and myth. You’ll play as Jeon Woochi in a world inspired by the novel Chŏn Uch’i chŏn. The title is confirmed as Nexon’s next blockbuster coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

What We Know About Woochi the Wayfarer

Nexon also brought further info on Woochi in a press release, featuring words from CEO Park Yong-hyun. He confirmed the title as a new ambitious project that will showcase the skills the team has developed over the years. Delivering an action RPG adventure built on Unreal Engine 5.

You’ll play as the Taoist sorcerer Jeon Woochi, using his powers to fight injustice and corruption. They also confirmed direct collaboration with various scholars and experts on the period for an authentic experience. Plus, they’re counting on the collaboration of Jung Jae-il as the composer, known for his work on Parasite (2019) and the Netflix series Squid Game.
