Call of Duty Black Ops 7 was first revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase last month. While the teaser didn’t reveal much, it did confirm the return of David Mason, one of the key playable characters from 2012’s Black Ops 2 campaign. That alone was enough to stir a wave of nostalgia and hype among long-time fans. After all, Black Ops 6 landed not too long ago and here we are again with another installment. Now, that excitement is building once more as the full world reveal of Black Ops 7 is officially set for next month.

 

A Full Reveal is Coming at Gamescom 2025 — Here’s What to Expect

Activision has targeted Call of Duty Black Ops 7 for release sometime this fall. With only a few months to go, many gamers were already expecting a more substantial update. Well, the wait won’t be much longer.

Geoff Keighley, the host of prestigious gaming events like Gamescom, confirmed on X that Black Ops 7 will kick off Gamescom 2025 in a “massive” way. Although Activision has kept the details tightly under wraps, there are a few things we can reasonably expect:

  • A full gameplay trailer featuring action from the campaign, a deeper look at multiplayer, and the Zombies
  • A possible release date announcement which would align with the expected fall timeline
  • More information about features and modes including the story and leaked info
  • And given its first-party status, confirmation that the game will launch day-one on Xbox Game Pass and has Xbox Play Anywhere support
   

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Battle.net, Steam, and the Xbox app. At the time of writing, there’s still no official word on a Nintendo Switch 2 version. Unlikely but exciting to think that maybe we’ll get a surprise Switch 2 announcement too.
