The first public European hands-on demo for Tides of Annihilation will be playable at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, from August 26 to August 30. Attendees can visit the Eclipse Glow Games booth located at Hall 6, Stand B-050, to experience the game firsthand.
This demo marks the second public playtest for the upcoming title, following an initial local showcase in Chengdu, China. According to the developer’s official Steam update, the gamescom build is an expanded version designed to give players a deeper look at the game’s mechanics.
Additionally, a fresh cinematic and gameplay trailer is scheduled to premiere during the highly anticipated Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 event on August 25.

Tides of Annihilation presents a bleak, action vision of a post-apocalyptic United Kingdom. The narrative follows Gwendolyn, the sole survivor of a cataclysmic otherworldly invasion, as she fights to rescue her sister and save reality.
Unlike traditional soulslike games, this single-player adventure emphasizes rapid, fluid combat and environmental traversal. Players will explore a distorted modern London, climbing towering, mountain-sized colossal knights that roam the landscape.
These giant entities act as vertical, moving levels, housing deep environmental puzzles and hidden lore. To survive, Gwendolyn can summon and command over ten unique spectral knights inspired by classic Arthurian legends.
The upcoming gamescom demo features branching paths that culminate in challenging battles against two iconic bosses: Mordred and Geraint.
The Industry Veterans Behind Eclipse Glow Games
Though Tides of Annihilation is the debut title for Eclipse Glow Games, the studio boasts a highly experienced development team. Based in Chengdu, China, the studio comprises over 150 developers, many of whom are industry veterans.
The staff includes former talent from major global franchises, including Assassin’s Creed, For Honor, Yakuza, Persona, and Prince of Persia. Co-CEO Ary Chen emphasized that the team has spent years pouring their passion into this neo-medieval project.
