The “Pearly and Precious” Quest Explained
Rebel Wolves recently revealed an extended gameplay sequence in collaboration with IGN for The Blood of Dawnwalker. This footage highlighted a side quest dubbed “Pearly and Precious.”
Set during the day, this mission showcases how protagonist Coen relies on his witchcraft instead of his vampiric abilities. Players are introduced to a Sanzhana. This is a mysterious pixie-like creature that trades gold for teeth harvested from corpses.
During the daytime, Coen utilizes traversal spells for speed. He also relies on offensive magic like the Ravenous Flock curse. This specific spell summons exploding spectral birds to damage surrounding enemies.
The quest emphasizes the game’s core philosophy of player choice. Coen can choose to aid the tooth-collecting creature by killing bandits and taking their place. Alternatively, he can handle the situation using entirely different moral parameters.
How Does The Vampire Court System Work?
The Vampire Court operates as a feudal hierarchy led by Brencis. He rules Vale Sangora through three lieutenants managing specific fiefdoms. Players can systematically dismantle these operations to weaken Brencis before the final castle siege. They can also ignore them entirely for a more challenging final confrontation.
According to an interview with IGN developer Rebel Wolves, vampires in this universe do not sire spawn through traditional biting. Instead, they must physically break off their own fangs and plant them in a victim’s flesh like seeds.
This physical toll explains why older vampires are covered in extra rows of teeth bursting through their skin. It adds a distinct layer of body horror to the ruling class. Each of Brencis’s lieutenants—Ambrus, Xanthe, and Bakir—controls a distinct aspect of the regime. These operations range from food supply to public relations.
Dismantling their networks is entirely optional. This feeds directly into the game’s non-linear narrative sandbox structure.

What Are The Consequences of Infamy in Vale Sangora?
Building Infamy in Vale Sangora causes Brencis to deploy loyal soldiers to hunt Coen. It also enforces city lockdowns that restrict quest access. Conversely, high Infamy makes intimidating regime loyalists much easier. It also unlocks unique alliances and perks with underground rebel factions who oppose the vampire lord.
Alongside Infamy, the game features a localized Anger system tied to specific fiefdoms. Disrupting a lieutenant’s operations fills their Anger meter. This eventually forces a direct physical confrontation. Players can then choose to eliminate the lieutenant in combat or negotiate a strategic deal to bypass further conflict.
Launching on September 3, 2026, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game promises a highly reactive world. These intricate systems ensure that every player’s approach to overthrowing or manipulating the Vampire Court yields completely different consequences.
