Bethesda’s space epic didn’t land quite right for everyone. While the vanilla game struggled to hold some players’ attention, the modding community is doing what it does best. One project stands above the rest, turning the Settled Systems into a galaxy far, far away.
Called Star Wars Genesis, this isn't just a simple texture pack. It is a massive, cohesive overhaul that effectively builds the Star Wars RPG fans have waited decades for.
The Genesis mod: A 100GB Transformation
The project is the work of DeityVengy, a modder dedicated to creating a unified experience rather than a chaotic mess of files. Weighing in at roughly 100GB, Genesis combines existing mods with custom-built assets to create a seamless world.
This goes beyond stormtrooper skins. The mod introduces a totally new narrative flow, including a Yuuzhan Vong storyline, Coruscant locations, and a complete UI overhaul. It feels like a standalone title rather than a fan patch.
Fixing the Exploration Problem of Starfield
One major complaint about the base game was the feeling of empty, repetitive planets. DeityVengy addressed this directly. Genesis injects new life into exploration, offering unique locations and handcrafted encounters that break the monotony of procedural generation.
The gameplay received a major tune-up as well. Expect smarter enemy AI, reworked animations, and realistic damage models. The visuals also get a boost with 4K textures, making the environment look as cinematic as the movies.
Easy Installation and Access to The Mod
You don't need a computer science degree to install this. The entire package is available via Wabbajack, an automated mod installer that handles the heavy lifting. But you also need the Shattered Space dlc, don’t forget to buy it with the game (if you don’t already own them).
All resources point to the official Star Wars Genesis site, where players can also support DeityVengy. To play this, you only need a copy of Starfield on PC. If you haven't picked it up yet, now is the perfect time to grab a key at a discount.
Verdict: A New Hope for Starfield?
If you shelved Starfield shortly after launch, Genesis is a compelling reason to reinstall. It fixes core gameplay loops while delivering a rich Star Wars fantasy that official studios often struggle to match. This is arguably the best way to play Bethesda's sandbox in 2026.
Are you ready to trade the Frontier for the Millennium Falcon, or does the file size scare you off?

Wish you could get this on creations on xbox why isn't it?
I don't know why... under the costume, it's still Starfield. You had to enjoy the core of starfield in the first place for this to make that big a difference.
If 'everyone is reinstalling it', why have the Steam numbers not shown a major shift? The last 48 hours saw a peak at 4,400 players. That's a few more than it has been recently, but not significantly so.
So, is it worth it buying the game and playing it with this mod? I love the idea of it but I am aware of its flaws, I looked and saw the changes of the mod and I am a bit impressed, someone more knowledgeable? What do you think?
I remember playing this game and feeling like it was missing so much, but that could be an opportunity for a talented modder to go nuts. Sounds like that happened.
