RoadCraft: The Ultimate Disaster Construction Sim – Rebuild with Heavy Machinery

RoadCraft is the latest construction simulation game from Saber Interactive, the creators of SnowRunner and MudRunner. In this game, you take charge of a reconstruction company tasked with rebuilding a city after a natural disaster.

RoadCraft

RoadCraft is a realistic construction and management simulation. Developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment. To rebuild an area after a natural disaster, you have access to over 40 vehicles, which you’ll need to navigate through various and especially demanding terrains, just like in MudRunner. All of this takes place across 8 different maps.

RoadCraft Gameplay: From Rubble to Infrastructure

In RoadCraft, you take on various tasks. You can use bulldozers and cranes to clear away destroyed structures. But you’re not just here to destroy—you’re here to rebuild. That means you’ll need to repair roads, bridges, and power lines to restore services in the area.

Some of the damaged objects, like trees you have to cut down, can be processed in your recycling plant into important components. You can then organize convoys to deliver the needed resources to the construction sites, but often the paths are not easily accessible, and like in MudRunner, you might get stuck in the mud.

The game puts strong emphasis on realistic physics and detailed vehicle controls. You can manually control nearly everything in the vehicles, like cranes and more. Every object in the world behaves with realistic physics—wood reacts differently than stone or sand, for example.

Vehicles and Machinery

RoadCraft features various vehicles. There are vehicles like the bulldozer to clear debris. You’ll also use cranes to lift and move heavy loads such as containers or materials to help clean up the city. Of course, you’ll also need to transport both vehicles and materials. That’s where transport vehicles come in, though poor infrastructure makes their use difficult. That’s why building roads is crucial.

RoadCraft

To build roads, you’ll have an asphalting machine. Power poles are also important, and there’s a dedicated vehicle for placing them. Poles are made of wood, so you’ll need to cut down trees—again, with a dedicated machine. And so on. As you can see, there are many vehicles for different tasks. In total, over 40 vehicles await you, which you unlock as you progress through the story.

Maps and Environments

RoadCraft features a total of eight large maps, each with a 4 km² area. You can freely explore these maps and drive your vehicles across them. Throughout the world, you’ll have various missions to complete. Some follow a specific sequence, while others can be done in any order you like.

The maps are all quite different and present their own challenges. You’ll encounter a mountain region with steep climbs and tricky terrain. In the coastal area, you’ll deal with floods, making many parts difficult to reach. And in desert landscapes, sandstorms and unstable ground make your work even harder.

RoadCraft Co-op and Multiplayer

The best part is you can play RoadCraft together with up to four players. You can plan projects, assign tasks, and support each other. Sometimes, it’s really useful to have a second vehicle to pull you out of the mud. Plus, working as a team keeps you more motivated and efficient.

Release and Editions

RoadCraft releases today, May 20, 2025 at 15:00 UTC for PC (Steam & Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. The game comes in two editions: the Standard Edition, which includes the base game only, and the Rebuild Edition. The Rebuild Edition includes two additional maps with more vehicles and missions.
