Rain World: The Watcher (RW) is the new and second DLC for the survival platformer adventure from Videocult. A small indie studio from Boston that debuted with RW in 2017, after a long development since 2011 and a Kickstarter campaign. It takes us on a 2D survival adventure following a family of Slugcats, exploring and surviving in a hostile world.
A journey full of discovery and danger that was well-received, which saw the release of the first DLC, Downpour, in 2023 with 5 new slugcats. And the arrival of The Watcher, which follows the slugcat of the same name, on 28/03/2025 on PC with the console version delayed. Rain World: The Watcher – Console Launch Date Confirmed
Following the launch of The Watcher DLC for Rain World on 28/03/2025 for PC only, Akupara Games brings news on the console version. Officially announcing on 11/09/2025 the awaited second DLC for Rain World, which will debut on 25/09/2025.
Accompanied by a dedicated trailer for the console version. Where we’ll follow the black slugcat The Watcher, on a new journey full of discoveries, mysteries and dangers. With the end of one journey, and the beginning and end of a new path awaiting us. Debuting therefore at the end of September on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Rain World: New Update on the Way
Additionally, with the confirmation of the much-anticipated launch of The Watcher on Console, the team at Videocult also confirms the arrival of a new update. With version 1.5 of the DLC that brings some new features that the team for now mentions as “asurrtcee” and “oerl”.
But which the most attentive fans have noticed from the trailer, with a visual change to the Prince’s Throne Room and the Fetid Glen region. But also a new yellow portal in Sunlit Port. Which would seem to confirm the “Void Weaver” mentioned in the game files. So, we’re waiting for more official details from the team.
