Two massive gaming franchises are crossing paths in a collaboration that few people saw coming. Persona 5 Royal and Call of Duty Mobile have officially announced a crossover, bringing the Phantom Thieves into one of the biggest mobile shooters around.

 

The Phantom Thieves Infiltrate the Battlefield

Persona 5 Royal has yet another collaboration confirmed and no, it’s not Fortnite. It’s with Call of Duty Mobile. While both franchises already have a long history of crossover events and guest appearances, very few expected these two series to end up together.

A teaser trailer was released alongside the announcement with the caption, “The Phantom Thieves of Hearts have infiltrated CODM.” Outside of that short reveal, no additional details were shared including a release window or how extensive the collaboration will actually be.

   

The teaser did however show silhouettes of four characters, confirming the appearance of Joker, Ann Takamaki, Makoto Nijima, and Sumire Yoshizawa. All four were shown carrying firearms, fitting surprisingly well into Call of Duty Mobile’s military-style setting while still keeping the recognizable Persona 5 aesthetic.

Call of Duty: Mobile is currently running its crossover with The Boys for Season 5. The upcoming Persona 5 Royal partnership will be a different season giving players a brand new aesthetic to look forward to once the current event concludes.
