The galaxy’s most anticipated comeback hasn’t faded into the Force just yet. Despite years of radio silence and shifting developers, the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is officially still in the works.

The Long Road from Aspyr to Saber

The journey for this reimagining has been anything but smooth. It started at Aspyr, but reports in late 2025 indicated the reins were handed over to Saber Interactive. This shift followed internal concerns about the project’s direction and pace.

Adding to the complexity, Lucasfilm Games vice president Douglas Reilly previously hinted that a remake of the sequel, KOTOR II: The Sith Lords, had also been discussed under the codename “Juliet.”

However, for now, the primary focus remains on getting the first chapter right for modern machines.
