Excellent news for retro action fans arrived today as developer Domesticated Ant Games and publisher Dear Villagers officially announced Gravity Circuit 2. To celebrate this reveal, the teams are offering the acclaimed original game, Gravity Circuit, completely free to claim on Steam from now until June 13.

Gravity Circuit 2 Announced for 2027

Fans of the original title have plenty to celebrate with Gravity Circuit 2 now officially on the horizon. While many indie games never get the opportunity to continue beyond a single release, Gravity Circuit has taken a different path. After earning praise from players and becoming one of the breakout indie releases of 2023, the series is now returning with a full-fledged sequel.

The upcoming sequel picks up after the Circuits successfully established peace which unfortunately comes to an end when a new Ark appears alongside the Hunter Army. But this time, lone operative Kai is not facing this by himself as he is joined by Cable, the Power Circuit. Together they must combine their unique strengths to repel the invaders.

One of the biggest additions in the sequel is the ability to choose between two playable characters throughout the campaign. Kai retains his signature close-range combat, relying on powerful punches, hookshot grapples, and quick movement to stay on the offensive. Cable offers a contrasting approach, focusing on ranged attacks, aerial mobility, and unique abilities that allow him to recycle defeated enemies into ammunition. Since both characters share the same campaign, stages can play out differently depending on who you choose.

The sequel is also expanding customization options. Players will be able to earn abilities from bosses through Circuit Shards, equip Booster Chips to enhance their capabilities, and slot Burst Techniques for powerful finishing attacks. Combined with hidden collectibles, rescue objectives, and upgrade opportunities scattered throughout the game, there is plenty of room to experiment with different builds and playstyles.

The announcement of a sequel is not the only major update from Dear Villagers. Alongside a publisher sale on Steam offering discounts of up to 90% off other titles, the original Gravity Circuit is currently free to claim.

Originally released in 2023, Gravity Circuit is a fast-paced 2D action platformer inspired by classic console games from the 80s and 90s. Set in a futuristic world inhabited by sentient robots, players take control of Kai, a legendary operative called back into action after the long-defeated Virus Army resurfaces with plans for world domination.

The game blends platforming with close-range combat, allowing players to chain together satisfying punches, launch enemies across the screen, and unlock new powers throughout the adventure. Across 12 distinct stages, players rescue innocent civilians to unlock new abilities and test their combat skills against a variety of unique boss encounters.
