Final Sentence is not your typical battle royale. Instead of guns and grenades, your “weapon” is a typewriter and your survival depends on your typing skills. It may sound corny but solo-developer Button Mash crafted the game with such an intense atmosphere that you’ll be at the edge of your seat 5 minutes in. While playtest participants were the only ones who were able to experience the game before, that ends now. A public demo is now available on Steam, perfect to make your heart rise for Halloween.

Final Sentence is going viral and it deserves every bit of attention it’s getting. This upcoming battle royale puts players into a warehouse, each seated at a typewriter and watched over by a masked person holding a revolver with a single bullet, ready to fire every time you make a mistake.

Every challenge has a timer so apart from typing accurately, you’ll also need to be fast. Since the gun only has one bullet, there’s an element of Russian roulette too. And to make the game even more intense, you’ll hear a gunshot every time another player is eliminated.

The game supports up to 100 players, meaning if you make it to the end, you’ll definitely earn those battle scars, both digital and emotional. But you don’t have to play with 100 players every time. The game also offers private lobbies of 4 to 8 players.

This typing-based battle royale tracks your performance, showing where you excel and where you fall behind. These stats, especially the wins, are taken into account in matchmaking. This feature was added to the demo thanks to feedback from playtesters.

While the game gives off Squid Games or Alice in Borderland vibes, Button Mash actually came up with the game after researching on how he can improve his own typing skills.
