Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 and Kingdom Hearts 4 are making progress and on schedule, according to Square Enix director Tetsuya Nomura, who has asked fans to be patient.

While Square Enix has not provided release dates yet, fans can feel reassured that both RPGs appear to be on track, with a full reveal of both games potentially on the horizon.
Kingdom Hearts 4 will continue the story of Sora, picking up after Kingdom Hearts 3 and Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. Whereas Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will conclude the epic and legendary story of Cloud and the eco-terrorist group, AVALANCHE.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 – Development Update
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth ended with the death of Aerith in the “main” timeline of the story, with Cloud’s failure to protect her and block Sephiroth’s attack breaking him mentally and physically. Ending at such a pivotal moment in the story, Part 3 will continue and finish the story, bringing a close to one of gaming’s most memorable stories.
In a recent livestream, the franchise’s creator and director, Tetsuya Nomura, revealed that Square Enix is “making a lot of progress with the game.” Translated by aitaikimochi on X, he asked fans to “please wait.”
I translated Nomura’s quote from the FF7EC stream regarding FF7 Remake Part 3 and Kingdom Hearts 4.

Kingdom Hearts 4 – What We Know So Far
First announced on April 10, 2022, Square Enix has revealed very little, despite a rumor in May 2025 that Kingdom Hearts 4 could launch sometime this year. Set in the expansive city of Quadratum, the game follows the returning Sora in what Square Enix has previously described as “the beginning of the end” of the current story.
Speaking in the same interview, Nomura reassured fans that KH4 was still in development, revealing that the developers were “making great strides and going according to schedule. So please wait for more information on that!”
What This Means for Square Enix Fans
Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts are two of Square Enix’s flagship franchises. With the latest entries in both IPs progressing in development, fans are hopeful for major reveals in the coming months.
Until we hear more from the developer, we’re left to wonder and speculate on release dates and how each story will unfold.
Conclusion
Legendary game designer and director Tetsuya Nomura has revealed that Square Enix is on schedule when it comes to the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 4 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3. When do you think we will see a full reveal of the games? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Being waiting for some news on Finall Fantasy. Good thing is that first two remakes can be found on a very nice discount, if you still haven't played them! It's good to know that the 3rd installment is in active development, although it sounds like we'll have to wait a little. Still, I'm sure it will worth it, given the success of previous titles.
