After more than a year of waiting, Dune Awakening is finally making its way to consoles. The massive survival MMO from Funcom first arrived on PC in 2025, and now PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players can finally have their turn. Dune Awakening Console Release Set for September

The June 2026 PlayStation State of Play came packed with major announcements and one of them is what Dune fans have been waiting for, for a year. Funcom announced that Dune Awakening is finally coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 22, 2026.

The news is extra special for the Xbox community as the game will support the Xbox Play Anywhere so a single digital purchase covers both console and PC progress. On top of that, Dune Awakening is launching straight into Xbox Game Pass on day one. Unlike other console releases though which also join the Premium tier, this one will follow the standard day-one path of being exclusive to Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

The September launch will also bring more than just a console port. Funcom is rolling out a major update across all platforms including a new single-player mode and additional story content, particularly Book One’s story finale.

With Dune Part Three releasing in theaters later this year, console players will have a chance to spend some time on Arrakis before returning to the big screen. Stepping onto the digital sands of Arrakis is quite an ideal prologue to the cinematic conclusion waiting at the box office.
