The Sinking City 2 improves on all of the previous game and yes, that also means more of everything that makes Lovecraft so especial, disgusting situations, fear of water, monsters, carefully managing resources to survive and a very dark story in a flooded city with its weird inhabitants, rituals and all kinds of underwater horrors. This one will be the best Lovecraftian 3rd person adventure up to date and with all the art Frogwares already have we better are ready for a unique experience
The Sinking City 2 has quietly shifted into 2026 after a long development and delays caused by the war in Ukraine and the team trying to reshape the sequel into a proper survival horror, so most of us are just waiting to see more gameplay and hope the extra time pays off rather than rushing something out this year.
The Sinking City 2 is the brainchild of Frogwares, best known for their involvement in many dark and ingenious Sherlock Holmes games. This is the case once again, with the city of Arkham plunged into darkness, between flooded alleys and haunted mansions, and the icing on the cake: the inspiration is Lovecraftian! So the fiction is in. The atmosphere looks extraordinary and I can't wait to see the story and the gameplay, which I hope won't be too secondary.
Ever since Frogwares returned the author's rights to this Lovecraftian adventure, they haven't stopped improving it. It's exciting to see what they prepare for us in the upcoming The Sinking City 2, the sequel featuring a dark and dangerous world. Made with Unreal Engine 5, this game is faithful to classic survival horrors, and it's very impressive!
