Yakuza Games Digital Upgrade For PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Announced, Out on Dec 8th

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are having digital upgrade deals for owners of PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced that, alongside the Yakuza Series 20th Anniversary releases on December 8, existing owners of the three games on PS4, Xbox One, and PC will be able to enjoy digital upgrade offers on each of the titles. Unfortunately, these massive discounts of up to 100% will not be available to physical edition owners.

Three Yakuza Games Offer Upgrade Discounts on December 8th

It’s always nice when loyalty pays off (kind of). Announced today, Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will all offer digital upgrade discounts to existing owners on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and “old” Steam version. These will go live as soon as their current-gen editions launch on December 8th.

However, physical edition owners and Game Pass/PS Plus members will not be able to avail it. It’s very unfortunate especially for physical disc holders since they’re normally the ones who truthfully support devs and actually, the game itself.

It’s unclear as to why they were skipped since it’s not remote to offer upgrade discounts even on disc versions. Because of this, it wouldn’t be surprising if less people buy physical copies since, well, they’re put in the backseat.

The upgrade offers apply to owners of the game before:

• Console: December 8 at 8:29AM PT / 11:29AM ET / 4:29PM GMT
• PC: December 8 at 09:00AM PT / 12:00 p.m. ET / 4PM GMT

Upgrade price for existing owners:

• Yakuza 0 (PS4/XBO/Steam) – $14.99
• Yakuza Kiwami (PS4/XBO) – $1.99
• Yakuza Kiwami 2 (PS4/XBO) – free

While we know how much the Yakuza 0 upgrade is for the PC version, the Yakuza Kiwami 1 & 2 prices won’t be revealed until its launch. It is important to note that if you choose to upgrade on any platform, saved data will not be transferred to the current-gen versions.
