Xbox Cloud Gaming Expands To More Smart TVs in 2026

Xbox Cloud Gaming is expanding to more smart TVs in 2026, with the Xbox app coming to select Hisense, V homeOS, and TCL Google TVs.

Microsoft keeps inching closer to a future where playing Xbox games is less about owning a specific box and more about having access to a screen and a controller. Xbox Cloud Gaming has taken a long route to get here, spending some time in beta and rolling out slowly across devices. But the direction has never really changed. Microsoft wants Xbox to be something you can pick up and play almost anywhere.

At the start of 2026, that plan is getting a little more real. Microsoft has announced new smart TV partnerships that will bring the Xbox app and cloud gaming support to more living rooms, expanding where players can stream games without needing a console.

Microsoft’s push to make Xbox Cloud Gaming more accessible is still moving in the same direction, and 2026 is shaping up to be another step forward. The Xbox app, on supported smart TVs, has become the center of that effort as it lets you stream games through Xbox Cloud Gaming with a controller, no console needed.

The Cloud gaming feature is included on Xbox Game Pass’s main tiers, and Microsoft has also been expanding support for streaming select games you already own, as long as they are available in the cloud library.

The Xbox app is already available on a handful of TV platforms today including newer LG smart TVs, Samsung smart TVs, and select Amazon Fire TV models. That rollout has taken longer than many expected but Microsoft is dead set in continuing to widen the list this year.

One of the biggest updates for 2026 is a new partnership with V, previously known as VIDAA. Microsoft confirmed that the Xbox app is coming to select Hisense smart TVs and other TVs powered by V homeOS.

For players on those platforms, it will mean the same core setup as the existing TV versions of the app. You open the Xbox app, connect a compatible controller, and stream titles directly over the internet through Xbox Cloud Gaming. Microsoft says more details about supported models and the overall experience on Hisense TVs will be shared in the coming months.

Google TV is also being added to the mix. During CES 2026, TCL announced that the Xbox Game Pass app with cloud gaming is coming to Google TV later this year, at least for TCL’s Google TV lineup. TCL has already named its X11L flagship as a supported model but it has not provided a more specific release window beyond 2026.

Microsoft and Google also have not officially confirmed yet if the app will launch widely across all Google TV devices or if it will begin as a more limited rollout focused on TCL models first.

Even with a few details still pending, the vision is clear. Microsoft is steadily building a broader cloud gaming ecosystem where an Xbox experience can live on more screens without needing a dedicated console. With more smart TV brands joining in 2026, Xbox Cloud Gaming is getting closer to being something more players can access right from their living room setup.
