The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Songs of the Past at Gamescom

The Witcher 3 is back in the headlines as CD Projekt RED has officially announced that its upcoming expansion, Songs of the Past, will be featured during this year’s Gamescom Opening Night Live. The showcase takes place on August 25, 2026, at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 8 PM CEST, where fans can expect their first substantial look at the expansion.

Songs of the Past is currently scheduled to launch sometime in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. CD Projekt RED has yet to reveal what the expansion’s story is about but the studio has been dropping small hints that point toward Belleteyn, a spring festival in The Witcher universe that is closely associated with Ciri’s birth.

Whatever ends up being shown at ONL, expectations are high as both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine were absolute beasts of an expansion.
