The launch date for Code Vein was set in September, but although Namco made this announcement a month ago, it seems we will not have the game that soon.
Code Vein is the RPG developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment for PC, Xbox One and PS4. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian décor with vampire themes and various supernatural abilities, and is eagerly awaited by fans of this genre. The game was postponed until next year. The delay happened overnight. Moreover, the information is so recent that it has not been published yet on the publisher’s Twitter official account.
In a statement to Gematsu, Bandai Namco’s American subsidiary said that it takes more development time to make sure that the final product can meet the expectations of fans.
“Code Vein has received an enormous amount of positive feedback from keen fans who have received real-time in-development versions of the game over the past nine months“, said Eric Hartness, vice president of marketing at Bandai Namco Entertainment America.
“Armed with the knowledge of how well the game has already been received, we’ve made the decision to postpone the Code Vein release to further refine the gameplay“. It seems this decision was the right one.
The launch date of September 28 means that the game should compete for time / attention against other successful games such as Dragon Quest, Tomb Raider, Destiny 2, Spider-Man and others coming out early in the fall season.
It seems we have to wait some more for it but in the meantime we can enjoy the rest of the games that will arrive in the second half of 2018!
i have never actually heard of code vein, but the character design looks nice, a bit weird but nice!
I think it’s a good decision to delay the game. From the gameplay videos I’ve seen so far Code Vein looked like it needed some work.
