What is Cybernetic Attack: Final Mission?

Cybernetic Attack: Final Mission is a 16-bit side-scrolling shoot ’em up and a direct remake of the 1990 NES title known as S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team in the West. The project modernizes the original Natsume classic with enhanced graphics while retaining the traditional 2D side-view perspective and fast-paced arcade gameplay.

Developer Tengo Project confirmed this new entry follows their previous successful retro revivals. Winning Entertainment Group oversees planning, development, and sales for the title.

Players navigate automatically scrolling vertical and horizontal stages. The gameplay requires players to shoot left or right to defeat invading alien forces led by the antagonist Vile Malmort.

Tengo Project expands the original roster significantly for this modernized release. The development team replaced the original two protagonists, Arnold and Sigourney, to introduce a broader selection of specialized fighters.

The remake roster features four distinct combatants: Frederick, Siren, Titan, and Queen Bee. Up to two players can participate simultaneously in cooperative mode.

Winning Entertainment Group confirms that both players can select the exact same character during multiplayer sessions. This character flexibility represents a substantial gameplay upgrade over the 1990 classic.

Winning Entertainment Group has not yet announced a release date or confirmed platforms for Cybernetic Attack: Final Mission. Despite the lack of release details, the development team confirmed multiple localization options. The game will support English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese languages.

Attendees can test the game directly before launch. Tengo Project will host a playable demo at Tokyo Game Show 2026 inside Makuhari Messe Hall 9, Indie Game Corner 09-C01, running from September 17 to September 21.
