A new Season 23 teaser suggests Rocket League is finally giving players control over their respawn locations after getting demoed.
- End of RNG Respawns: A recent teaser on Rocket League’s official X account strongly implies that players will be able to manually select their spawn side after a demolition.
- Massive Competitive Impact: This change removes the decade-long frustration of random spawns, allowing tactical positioning to prevent immediate goals.
- Season 23 Launch Date: The new mechanic is highly anticipated to debut with the launch of Season 23 on June 10, 2026.
One of the most requested features in Rocket League may finally be happening next month. After years of players getting frustrated and praying to the RNG gods for a favorable spawn, it looks like Psyonix could finally be giving players control over where they come back onto the field. For fans who have spent the past decade guessing where they’ll respawn after getting demo’d, Season 23 may finally put an end to it.
A Small Teaser May Have Revealed a Major Gameplay Change
While Rocket League’s Unreal Engine 6 trailer has been grabbing most of the attention lately, there’s another teaser that many players may have missed. In a separate teaser posted on the game’s official X account, Psyonix hinted that players will soon have direct influence over their respawn location.
The short clip shows a car getting demo’d, spawning on the wrong side of the field, and then the opponent scores a goal. The video then quickly rewinds the tape, allowing the car to respawn in the ideal position to make the save. The teaser is paired with the caption, “The decision is in your control” which honestly couldn’t be more clear as to what it implies.
Choosing where to respawn is a feature players have been asking about for years. Since launch, respawns after demolitions have always been unpredictable causing frustrations especially during competitive matches where a bad spawn can immediately lead to a goal. Giving players control over that mechanic could end up being one of the bigger gameplay changes the game has seen in quite a while.
With Season 23 set to launch on June 10, 2026, fans now have more than one reason to look forward to the next update.
