What is included in the Pokémon Pokopia 2.0.0 update?
The Pokémon Pokopia Version 2.0.0 free update introduces the Dive move, which allows players to breathe underwater, build aquatic habitats, and interact with marine Pokémon. The patch also adds new hair colors, emotes, and essential inventory management tools like bulk storage transfers.
Released on August 5, 2026, this patch expands the game map significantly without requiring a purchase. According to the official Nintendo support patch notes, the update increases the power generator placement limit and introduces new paintable items.
The update is available now for the Nintendo Switch 2. Players can immediately access the new customization options upon updating their software.

How do you learn the new Dive move?
To learn the Dive move in Pokémon Pokopia, you must first learn how to jump and use the Surf move. Additionally, players need to complete the specific gameplay request titled “Raise the environment level!” which is located at the Bleak Beach area.
Once these prerequisites are met, Manaphy will teach your character the ability. This move creates an air bubble helmet around Ditto, granting full access to the ocean depths off the shores of Bleak Beach and Withered Wasteland.
This mechanical addition is entirely free. You do not need to purchase the Expansion Pass to utilize Dive or to begin constructing underwater habitats.

Bubbly Basin DLC and Expansion Pass Details
Launching alongside the free update is Part 1 of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, titled Bubbly Basin. This premium expansion opens a dedicated underwater city for renovation and introduces exclusive building materials like Buoyant Blocks.
The Expansion Pass costs under €35 and secures access to future content drops planned for late 2026 and 2027. Early adopters who purchase the pass before August 31, 2027, receive a bonus of 30 rare Pokémetal ingots via Mystery Gift.
Players will also gain access to unique structures like the Sharpedo Submarine. Details surrounding the DLC roadmap can be verified directly on the official Pokémon Pokopia expansion portal.
Quality of Life Improvements and Bug Fixes
The 2.0.0 update addresses major community requests regarding inventory limits and interaction pacing. Players can now appraise Lost Relics in batches of up to 10, removing the repetitive dialogue sequences that previously slowed down progression.
Actions like Paint, Gather Honey, and Collect can now trigger multiple times in a single interaction. Furthermore, materials stored in a box next to a workbench will now be prioritized over items in the player’s active bag during crafting.
Fixes have also been applied to companion AI and movement. Pokémon will now successfully follow the player while using Surf or Magnet Rise, and physics issues causing creatures to fall off cliffs have been resolved.
