Disintegration, the sci-fi first-person shooter from Private Division and V1 Interactive, is set to launch on June 16, 2020.

Disintegration is a game from Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto and former studio lead at SOCOM developer, Zipper Interactive, Mike Gutmann.

The game is a blend of RTS and FPS elements set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi setting, with a focus on story-telling. In fact, the game was a full-blown RTS before the FPS element was added later on.

Disintegration has a full 12-15 hour single-player campaign, as well as having a heavy focus on competitive multiplayer.

If you haven’t seen the gameplay trailer yet, here you go:

The game’s story is set at a time where Earth’s resources have been used up and the planet is unlivable. Humans have taken to transferring their brains into robotic bodies, a process called Integration, with a military force called Rayonne enforcing the Integration process.

Players will be glad to know that the game will have no loot boxes and all micro-transactions are focused on cosmetic items only.

The game has been compared to Destiny, with Lehto understanding the comparison. In an interview with Kotaku, he said, “It’s a fair comparison to make, especially when you consider the fact that I was one of the core individuals developing the entire aesthetic style of Halo and a good bit of Destiny at the very beginning.

That’s my style, that’s my blueprint. It’s like what you’d expect from any good director: a certain kind of vibe from the movie that you’re gonna go see. The same thing is true with games. The kind of game I’m making is the kind of game I like making.”

You don’t have to wait long to get your hands on Disintegration with the game set to launch on June 16, 2020, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
