Moros Protocol (MP) is the first-person shooter in a roguelite style from the team at Pixel Reign. A Greek development team founded in 2018 that’s already behind a few titles, but now with a more ambitious project. Initially announced in 2022 as Darkverse: Rogue, and updating its name in 2024.
A title that takes us aboard the wreck of the spaceship The Orpheus. Where, without memory or allies, we’ll have to survive the horrors and dangers that await us. With an adrenaline-fueled and graphic roguelite shooter in a “pixel-painted” style planned for launch in 2025. Moros Protocol – Release Date Confirmed
Following the news of 2025 being an important year for Moros Protocol, the Pixel Reign team brings some news. Revealing among the updates the release date of their sci-fi roguelite FPS in a retropixel style. The news comes from the Secret Sauce Showcase 2025, announcing the launch date for September 4, 2025.
The announcement, which arrived on July 19, 2025, is accompanied by a new trailer. Taking us back aboard the spaceship The Orpheus. Where horrors and dangers will await us around every corner. With a strong gore style inspired by the gameplay of classic FPS games from the ‘90s and 2000s. Accompanied by the retropixel style that the team calls “pixel-painted,” as well as the option to play in co-op.
Moros Protocol: The Latest News
With the game’s launch and the conclusion of the June Playtest, the Pixel Reign team brings some new updates. The recent Dev Diary #14 gives us an in-depth look at the Concept Art for weapons, enemies, and the environment. Meanwhile, Dev Diary #15 provides some info on Weapons and Augments:
- Melee: Bosun’s Cinquedea (Sword) and Impact Hammer (Hammer)
- Firearm: DB5 Break-action (Shotgun)
- Augments: Heavy Strikes and Featherweight for additional damage based on the weight of melee weapons.
