Peter Molyneux is back, and he claims this is the one that defines his legacy. The creator behind Fable and Black & White has finally revealed that his “final” project, Masters of Albion, will launch on April 22, 2026.

Masters of Albion isn’t just a nostalgia trip, as studio 22cans promises a game “Blending strategy, simulation, town management, and real-time defence” that gives players total control.
Molyneux describes the god game as a “culmination” of his life’s work and says it will “delight players” and puts the genre firmly back on the map.”
Masters of Albion: Official Release Date Confirmed
22cans has officially confirmed that Masters of Albion hits PC via Steam on April 22, 2026. Following the mixed reception of previous titles, Molyneux knows the stakes are high as he looks to bow out of game development with one last success.
The developer is expected to focus on ensuring the game is polished and refined for its PC launch before releasing it on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at a later date.
MoA Gameplay Features: “God Hand” vs Night Terrors
The gameplay loop splits into two distinct phases. By day, you build. Unlike traditional RTS games, you aren’t stuck in a menu. You use the “God Hand” to physically stack materials, design weapons, and construct a town from scratch.
Everything you design impacts the economy. The bread you bake and the swords you forge are the only things your villagers use.
Then, the sun sets. The game shifts from a cozy builder to a frantic tower defense. Night brings waves of infected creatures crashing against your walls.
You don’t just watch. You can possess any villager in third-person mode to fight back directly, or use your God Hand to flick enemies into the horizon. It is chaotic, physics-driven combat that rewards creativity over stats.
Is Masters of Albion Worth the Hype?
Molyneux has a reputation for over-selling, so skepticism is healthy. If you loved the humor of Fable and the interaction of Black & White, this belongs on your radar.
Do you trust Peter Molyneux to deliver on his promises this time around?
