A casting call for Hideo Kojima’s Physint reveals a high-stakes hijacked bus scene. Get the latest on the “Shimmer” codename and new character details.

Fresh details about Physint have surfaced unintentionally but nevertheless gave fans an intriguing look at Hideo Kojima’s latest work. It’s still early days for the project but even these bits of information are enough to get people excited given Kojima’s track record when it comes to cinematic storytelling and unconventional ideas.

 

Hideo Kojima’s Physint New Scene Details

Physint may still be a few years away, but fresh details this early are already building excitement. Much of the project remains under wraps, but a report from MP1st sheds some light on what’s currently happening in development.

According to the report, the game is operating under the codename “Shimmer” and has recently entered its first casting phase. This process is being overseen by Mari Ueda, the same casting director who worked on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, suggesting a high level of continuity in Kojima’s production standards.

The casting call specifically highlights a high-tension scene involving multiple passengers on a hijacked bus. The production is looking for a diverse group of actors to fill specific roles, including a mother holding a newborn baby, two additional male passengers, and five teenagers of various ethnicities. Most interestingly, the call mentions an antagonist with a German accent who is described as being similar to Mads Mikkelsen in Hannibal.

Mikkelsen, of course, previously collaborated with Kojima on the original Death Stranding which raises the question of why not bring him back directly, though keeping each project distinct also fits Kojima’s approach to giving his games their own identity.

While we know the “Shimmer” shoot is set to begin this summer, most of the story details are still being guarded. What we do know for certain is that the cast is already star-studded. During the game’s initial reveal, it was confirmed that Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe are all set to join the project.

   

There’s still a long way to go before Physint fully takes shape but even at this stage, it’s hard not to get excited even with OD closer in the horizon.
