Rockstar Games may be dragging their feet when it comes to announcing GTA 6, but that doesn’t mean you need to sit on your thumbs while you wait as we’ve got a list of games you can play right now to satisfy that thirst for crime, violence, and car chases.

WHAT GAMES ARE LIKE GTA 6?

GTA V and GTA Online are still popular games, and GTA V is even the most profitable entertainment product in history.

Rockstar recently released the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – the Definitive Edition, which gives those who originally missed out the chance to play Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

We know that GTA 6 is in the works, but we also don’t expect it to launch until late 2023 or early 2024, which may as well be an eternity.

With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of games that you can play right now that will keep you busy until GTA 6 releases.

MAX PAYNE

The Max Payne trilogy is a violent story about an undercover cop who seeks revenge when he is framed for murder.

Developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Rockstar Games, they have tragedy, love, and intense, slow-motion bullet-hell action.

As the story unfolds, you will learn that New York City is a dark place where murder and betrayal are the norm.

If you haven’t played them, they are highly-recommended and the Max Payne Complete Pack contains Max Payne, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, and Max Payne 3.

MAFIA: DEFINITIVE EDITION

Remastered from the ground up, Mafia: Definitive Edition thrusts cabdriver Tommy Angelo into a world of crime during the Prohibition era.

Working your way up through the ranks of the mob, you will learn to be a gangster and will have your loyalties for the Salleri Family tested daily.

The underworld is full of opportunity and Mafia: Definitive Edition asks you how far you’re willing to go to survive in a violent and brutal 1930s.

YAKUZA 0

Yakuza 0 is SEGA’s story-driven beat ‘em up set in the unforgiving crime world that dominates 1980s Japan.

The life of a Yakuza is one of honor and status and to earn both you will need to beat gangsters, collect debts, and defend uncover a plot that will have you taking the fall for a murder.

Playing as Kazuma Kiryu, an upcoming Yakuza, you have the whole of Tokyo and Osaka and can choose to complete the main storyline, embark on side quests, or relax with discos and even karaoke.

Available on PC, Yakuza 0 features 4K resolution support, uncapped framerates, and movie-like cutscenes.

WATCH DOGS

Watch Dogs is Ubisoft’s attempt at showing just how dangerous – and fun – advancing technology can be in the near future.

Set in Chicago, you will learn to hack ctOS, a highly-advanced computer operating system that connects America.

With the swipe of a finger, you will hack into phones, security cameras, and traffic light systems to gather information and gain an advantage over your enemies.

If you need more than the ability to hack anything, there are also car chases, shootouts, and seamless multiplayer.

SAINTS ROW: THE THIRD REMASTERED

Saints Row: The Third Remastered is the most over the top gangster experience you could ever wish to play.

Crazy character customization, ridiculous weapons intended to humiliate your enemies, absurd storylines, and sex, drugs, and rock and roll. It’s got it all.

As a member of The Saints, you live a life of luxury in Stilwater and your range of merchandise and collector’s items would make Marvel’s Avengers envy you.

With all the fame comes new problems and now a global criminal fraternity called The Syndicate demands tribute from you. A tribute that you’re unwilling to pay.
