CEO’s Statement and Market Confidence

Take-Two Interactive recently posted its latest financial results, which, despite being extremely positive, were marred by the ongoing struggles of Civilization 7, which has failed to inspire the fanbase with its poor launch, which saw players describe it as an unfinished and unpolished game.

Developer Firaxis Games has been busy rolling out patches and updates to fix its issues since it launched in February, and Zelnick says it is “definitely improving” and “right now our projections for the lifetime value of the title are very consistent with our initial expectations for the title.”

What’s Next for Civilization 7

While Zelnick admits the Civilization series has “always been a slow burn,” he says sales are improving. For players, Firaxis has been busy making fixes and changes to the game, including to its UI and quality-of-life features.

In its latest update, the developer says it is working on “some deeper work on systems like Ages, replayability, and how players connect with their civ across history.”

Where to Buy Civilization 7

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII may have got off to what Zelnick describes as a slow start, but patches and updates have been rolled out frequently to improve the game’s features, systems, and gameplay, and it’s now much better than it was at launch.
