About Flightpath

Flightpath is a story-driven shoot-em-up game where the path you take influences the outcome of the story! Developed by Illogic Games, select one of three characters each with their own storyline, battle your way through waves of enemies then you will be presented with two possible fights, depending on which path you take the story changes, and with it how the game itself unfolds, which missions follow, and who you meet and how the ending changes.

• Welcome to Venaris a small planetary system where an underground criminal organization known as the syndicate continuously terrorizes its citizens while the corrupt planetary administration does nothing. Three unrelated individuals decide to take matters into their own hands Katherine “Kath” McKenzie, A.J., a disgraced ex-detective, and Maxine “Max” Speed each of them vowing to take down the organization and find their leader.
• Choose to blow up a bunch of syndicate stuff to hamper their scheme or break off to chase down an escaping villain for information on the Chairman. You will guide your choice of character on their quest to stop the chairman. Your decisions will alter how the story unfolds through each stage, changing the flow of the story, what characters you meet, bosses you fight, and even the ending.
• Instead of predetermined synchronized attacks, enemies spawn, and attack patterns are procedurally generated to keep the mayhem unpredictable and fun. It’s not just about shooting; in some stages, you will have a specific task like rescuing someone, blowing up a syndicate operation, recovering items, or taking down a boss.

Flightpath Reviews

We weren’t fully sold on Flightpath after we finished the story but the Endless Mode hints at the game it probably should have been all along. Either way, this is a competent and enjoyable shoot ’em up but maybe not the most exciting or polished.

Flightpath: Adventures in Venaris is a genuinely entertaining shoot ’em up that you can spend hours with and still discover more you can do in its distinct campaign and clever customization component. It may not be arcade-like but I still recommend it to any shmup fan.
