EA's 23rd annual football title, as well as the last instalment with the Fifa nomenclature, also abandoned due to EA's decision not to renew its contract with the sports organisation. It remains the newest football title, however, as FC 24 is still a month away from release. Moreover, the price makes it quite attractive waiting for the new one to drop in price, considering that for the most part the experience is the same, with just a few seasonal changes..
FIFA 23 is a disappointing entry in the long-running franchise that I cannot, in good conscience, recommend anymore. While the game boasts updated player rosters and improved graphics, the core gameplay mechanics feel stale and lack innovation. The AI behavior is frustratingly inconsistent, leading to unrealistic and frustrating matches. The career mode, which used to be a highlight of the series, feels neglected and lacks significant improvements or meaningful updates. Moreover, the heavy emphasis on microtransactions and loot boxes continues to overshadow the overall experience, making it feel like a money-grabbing endeavor rather than a true celebration of the beautiful game. It's disheartening to witness the decline in quality and lack of meaningful improvements in each iteration. As a long-time fan, I had hoped for more from FIFA 23, but it falls short and fails to deliver the excitement and authenticity that the series was once known for. There are better alternatives available for football gaming enthusiasts, and it's hard to justify investing time and money in a game that has lost its spark.

I had no chance to play it yet, but I got some first impressions from some friends. Looks like they added a new motion and control called "Hypermotion 2" in this game, which makes the moves more realistic and more responsive, and they added some new mechanics like having different acceleration rates. Looks nice! Aside from it, it is similar to Fifa 22 (But I didn't play this one either, so I'll see if I can try it myself!)
Fifa will always be fifa, doesn't matter how many times it releases. While the newer edition is always an improvement, they really need to chill with the moneytization
