Blizzard Seeks Top Talent for Unannounced Mystery Game
From the recent news appearing on Blizzard’s dedicated website, it seems that the gaming industry giant is seeking and hiring new staff. All with a certain secrecy surrounding the creation of the new game.
A decidedly interesting piece of news from many perspectives, given Blizzard’s position, as well as Activision’s, currently with World of Warcraft Classic still in the midst of Season of Discovery 3, which just came out a few days ago.
Speculations on Blizzard’s New Game
Straight from the Blizzard Career page, new announcements have appeared almost en masse. The new announcements seem to focus heavily on the city of Irvine in California, with mostly important roles all labeled for an “ Unannounced Game ”. We have positions for Design Director and Combat AI, Creative Director, Senior Concept Artist, Senior 3D Artist, and many more.
It seems that the game is still in the early stages of conception, but thanks to the announcement specifically for the role of Creative Director, we can assume that it is a game with live-service, like an MMO, as the wording “multi-season story arcs” appears for the creation of the game world, characters, and themes.
What does the CEO of Microsoft Gaming say about the future of Activision Blizzard
Most likely, we will see a new game set in the established universe by Blizzard, thanks to the recent words of Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft’s Gaming division. Phil, in a recent interview following the long-awaited and tumultuous acquisition of Activision Blizzard, would like to see Microsoft bring back the legacy of Blizzard and Activision. To reassure fans of a new, more fitting direction for the IPs of the two giants, which in recent years, except for a few titles, have not particularly shone in terms of originality and content. We are still in the early stages of this new project, but it is certain to be an immediate look into the future of Activision and Blizzard under Microsoft’s new direction.
