The wait is almost over! Avowed, Obsidian Entertainment’s highly anticipated RPG, is set to launch on February 18, 2025. But for those who can’t wait to jump in, there’s even better news: Premium Edition owners get five days of early access, meaning they can start their journey as early as February 13.
As exciting as the game itself is, Avowed is also making waves for another reason. Not only is it a day-one title on Xbox Game Pass, ensuring a massive audience can dive in right away, but it also introduces a groundbreaking feature—cross-buy support. This means players can seamlessly switch between platforms without having to buy the game multiple times.
Avowed Enables Cross-buy Between Xbox, MS, and Battle.net
Avowed is launching with full cross-buy support across multiple platforms. If you buy the game on Xbox, Battle.net, or the Microsoft Store, you’ll have access to it on all three platforms in just a single purchase. But of course to make use of this feature, you’ll need to link your Xbox and Battle.net accounts.
This effectively expands Xbox Play Anywhere, making it easier than ever to switch between console and PC without losing access to your game. While Battle.net has previously been home to Activision Blizzard titles like Call of Duty, Avowed is the first non-Blizzard game to be available on the platform. For most, it’s seen as a sign that Microsoft is pushing for more flexibility in how and where players access their games.
Can Avowed Be Played On Steam Deck With Game Pass?
Because of the cross-buy, players with Game Pass subscription can also now access Avowed on Steam Deck via Battle.net. Yes, same as with Diablo 4.
