Celestial Empire (CE) is the new management title in the City Builder style from the team at President Studio. The Polish development team founded in 2018 in Warsaw, behind numerous simulation experiences. With CE, they bring an immersive city builder experience, which has been in development since early 2021. The first Playtest was released on 14 February 2022.

It offers us an immersive experience by taking us to Ancient China. There, as a Governor, we’ll have to fulfill the wishes and requests of the Emperor. Celestial Empire: Now Available in Early Access

With over 4 years of development, the President Studio team and co-publisher PlayWay S.A are finally ready to launch Celestial Empire. The immersive city-building and management experience by President Studio is set in ancient China. It finally debuts on 23 September 2025 on Steam in Early Access.

The launch is accompanied by the official trailer, taking us right into Ancient China. There, the Emperor has appointed us Governor of a new province. With a City Building and Management experience, you’ll make your city flourish, taking into account the needs of your people, the empire, and even the deities.

Celestial Empire: Gameplay and Key Features

CE offers a fantastic immersive City Building and Management experience. It challenges us to face the trials of a new Governor to make the province entrusted to us prosper. It offers:

• The Power of Planning: Various challenges await you as the new Governor. Try to expand and grow your city through planning. Search for new resources and increase production, all while dealing with the challenges of weather conditions and seasons.

• Trade and Expand: With the Emperor’s blessing, you’ll have access to the Silk Road. You can trade and cooperate for resources and materials, even sending caravans to other cities.

• Supernatural Forces: There’s also a supernatural element with various deities. Maintain a good relationship with them for powerful bonuses and blessings. But watch out for demons and supernatural disasters that could strike your province.

The team expects the Early Access launch to be followed by at least a year of development. The team will add new features to the base Early Access experience. This is all accompanied by a first Roadmap of Updates which includes:

• New Mountain Map and Gardens mechanic
• Buildings and Resources for the new Social Group, and Rickshaws in the city streets
• The Combat system with units, combat mechanics, and recruitment.
