AC Black Flag Resynced: The Vinted Leak & Official Reaction

We live in a weird timeline where major AAA game announcements aren’t happening at E3 or The Game Awards anymore.Sometimes, they happen because someone sold a plastic toy on a second-hand clothing app.

That’s exactly what happened this week with the rumored Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake. But the real story isn’t just the leak—it’s Ubisoft’s surprisingly candid reaction to it.

Ubisoft’s Meme-Tier Response

Usually, when a game leaks, publishers go silent or issue DMCA takedowns faster than you can say “Hidden Blade.” This time, Ubisoft chose chaos.

Here is the breakdown: initially spotted by @kenway_joe, a mysterious Edward Kenway figurine was listed on Vinted for a cool €400.

The seller claimed it was an official product, but there was a catch—nobody had ever seen this figurine before.

The packaging and design pointed toward PureArts, a long-time Ubisoft partner, effectively outing the project before the marketing team was ready.

Instead of ignoring it, the official Assassin’s Creed X (formerly Twitter) account replied to the one of the reposted thread with the legendary GTA San Andreas meme:

“Ah shit, here we go again.”

It’s the closest thing to a confirmation we’re going to get without a press release. They didn’t deny it; they just sighed in public. It’s a rare moment of transparency that tells us the “Resynced” project is definitely real, and they are tired of trying to hide it.

AC Black Flag Resynced: The Details

So, what exactly leaked? Aside from the figure, the listing heavily implies the title Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

This aligns with previous whispers and a PEGI listing that surfaced earlier.

However, just because the merchandise is ready doesn’t mean the game is.

  • The Vinted Leak: The figure is by PureArts. It sold instantly (obviously).
  • The Timeline: Rumors originally pinned a release before April 2026.
  • The Reality: Ubisoft is currently undergoing a massive internal restructuring. With reports of other titles being pushed back, this remake might be further out than the toy suggests.

The prevailing theory is that marketing materials and merchandise were finalized for an earlier reveal that got scrapped or delayed.

It’s a classic case of the merch arriving at the warehouse before the code is ready to ship.

Verdict: Is It Time to Hoist the Black Flag?

The industry is obsessed with remakes right now, but Black Flag is one of the few that actually deserves the polish. The original game’s naval combat and Caribbean atmosphere were incredible. Seeing that rendered in a modern engine is exactly what the fanbase has been screaming for.

Ubisoft‘s meme response is a good sign. It shows they are aware of the hype and are willing to play along with the community. Now, we just have to wait for an actual trailer.

Which AC game do you think needs a remake the most: Black Flag or the original Altaïr adventure?
