A series born in 2004 that became a massive hit, thanks to its unique design at the time. The 2025 version offers a reimagined experience inspired by the original, but designed as a 3-player co-op experience. As new characters, we’ll fight through various levels of Purgatory. Painkiller 2025: Launch Date Confirmed and Pre-Orders Open
Following the weapon reveal for the new Painkiller in April, Saber Interactive and 3D Realms finally confirm the launch date. Officially announced on June 24, 2025, with the launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC scheduled for October 9, 2025.
The announcement was revealed in the Pre-Order Trailer, which kicks off pre-orders for the game. It shows us in action with the pre-order skins for the 4 playable characters and the return of the PK arsenal of weapons. With primary and secondary attacks against the hordes of enemies led by the fallen angel Azazel. Including impalements, explosions, and chaos.
Painkiller: Pre-Order Bonuses and Latest News
As confirmed in the trailer, pre-orders for the game are now live. There’s a Standard and a Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition includes the Season Pass, with additional character and weapon skins. The Pre-Order Bonus includes:
- 4 Medieval Skins: medieval-themed skins for Ink (Apostle Knight), Sol (Sage Vizier), Roch (Iron Berserker), and Void (Hollow Jester).
- 6 Weapon Skins: additional skins for the 6 weapons: SMG, Stakegun, Shotgun, Hand Cannon, Rocket Launcher, and Electrodriver.
In the latest news, the Closed Technical Test wrapped up just last week, from June 4 to 16, 2025. During this time, some players got to try out the game. There might even be another playtest closer to launch.
