Total War Warhammer is part of a turn-based real-time strategy game franchise well-known to the public. This game’s difference from all the others is that it leads us to a world of heroic fantasy where orcs, dwarfs, humans confront each other in gigantic battles.
As you can see, Total War Warhammer takes us into the world of the Warhammer franchise, the well-known board game for fans of role-playing games.
Besides the heroic fantasy side of Total War, the fundamentals have not changed. You will have access to a story mode playable on a strategic map where the objective of the player will be to extend its hold over the adjacent territories and cities.
The games we selected are real-time strategy games similar to Total War Warhammer.Like most turn-based real-time strategy games, you will have to conquer enemy territories in single player or multiplayer mode. The difference with Total War Warhammer is the dimension of the role-playing license.
Indeed, since the 2000s the popularity of this giant role-playing game is in decline, many licenses have been distributed to video game studios, and since 2006 many video games have emerged under the name “Warhammer”.
We will remember the last one, Vermintide, which is also a turn-based role-playing game. This one is very nice, once you’re able to grasp its gameplay elements.
For a turn-based real-time strategy game of this type, we have lots of games to compare from. We will not just focus on the gameplay or the universe because we think it could just as easily satisfy RTS players as Starcraft Legacy of the Void, as well as building games like Civilization VI.
