Space Marine 2 Adds 12-Player Co-Op Operations Mode With Mod
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is getting 12-player support for co-op mode Operations thanks to a new mod. The mod, Astartes Overhaul, comes from Warhammer Workshop and is currently in a testing phase on PC.
A new mod called “Astartes Overhaul” aims to expand Saber Interactive’s Space Marine 2 by introducing a 12-player Operations mode. This mod will be available exclusively on Steam and will switch up the existing co-op mode, which currently only supports three players.
Saber Interactive has previously not supported modding for the third-person action game, but developer Warhammer Workshop says not only is Saber behind the mod but that they “deserve all the praise.”
What’s New in the 12-Player Co-Op Mode
Operations is a three-player PvE co-op mode in Space Marine 2, but it’s about to get 4X larger with Astartes Overhaul, which will support 12 players. While the new player count will mean more of your friends can join, it also comes in time for the harder difficulties that Saber is planning to add to the game in the future.

What is the Astartes Overhaul Mod
The 12-player Operations mode comes as part of the in-development Astartes Overhaul mod, which looks to add new classes and weapons and rebalance the game, all while remaining true to the Warhammer 40K lore and universe.
While the mod is still an early build, Warhammer Workshop wants to drop a playable version this weekend on May 3 or May 4. It will be downloadable from the Modding Hub discord channel.
