Would a PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds single player campaign be possible in the future? The game’s devs are open to the idea.

In an interview with Game Informer, Brendan Greene, also popularly known as PlayerUnknown, said that he is thinking about the possibilities of adding a single player campaign to the game. This, however, will not be easily added. One possible challenge they will face is the lack of lore in the game.

“Lore is important for creating it, but we don’t have any serious lore there… if we were going to do a single-player campaign then maybe the history of the island would come into it,” PlayerUnknown says.

He also said that he’s not totally into thinking about a PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds single player campaign yet as he wants to finish the game first.

“Maybe someday I’ll get to do a single-player campaign, but I’m not holding my breath for that. I want to get the game finished first.”
