Capcom is proud to announce that its latest installment in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter: Rise, has already sold over 8 million copies worldwide on Steam and Nintendo Switch. This is an impressive milestone, considering that the game has launched less than a year ago on Switch (March 26, 2021). It launched for players on PC recently (January 12, 2022).

The company did not reveal how much was sold on each platform, though. The move to launch Monster Hunter Rise on Steam played a huge role with the increase in sales, as it further widened the game’s reach across more regions.

The series has incredibly grown since the first game released in 2004, with reports saying that the entire franchise has reached more than 78 million units sold as of September 30, 2021.
