Gran Turismo: Film Adaptation Releases in Cinemas in August 2023

Sony’s Gran Turismo franchise is getting a film adaptation, and it releases in cinemas in August 2023.

GRAN TURISMO FILM RELEASE DATE?

After Sony and PlayStation’s successful release of the Uncharted Film featuring Tom Holland, the companies come together again to launch a Gran Turismo film.

District 9 and Chappie director Neil Blomkamp is directing the movie, which is based on a true story of an esports player who makes it as a professional racer.

The story is thought to follow the incredible rise of Jann Mardenborough, who won the 2011 GT Academy competition to earn the prize of driving for Nissan in the Dubai 24 Hour race.

Others think it could follow the story of Lucas Ordoñez, who won a GT PlayStation 3 tournament and went on to race for Nissan in the 2009 GT4 European Cup season.

Sony shut down rumors of a Gran Turismo TV series, but they are planning a Ghost of Tsushima movie and a The Last of Us series for HBO.

You can put it into gear and race to the cinemas to see the Gran Turismo film when it releases in cinemas on August 11, 2023.
