VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb believes that an HD remaster of GoldenEye 007 from 1997 “could be revealed in the next few weeks,” and that Microsoft will be announcing it instead of its original publisher, Nintendo.
VideoGamesChronicle transcribed Grubb’s recent Grubbsnax premium show on Giant Bomb, and reported that what Grubb revealed was also what another source told them.
“I think that Microsoft is going to be the one to announce that first… I think this game is probably coming pretty soon, I’m thinking next couple of weeks,” Grubbs said.
In relation to this, back in January, Wario64 over at Twitter posted images from GoldenEye 007, particularly its Xbox Achievements list. It also shows that there were only two people who have completed most of these, and both are employees of Rare, the game’s developer.
Aside from the list, Wario64 also shared images of the Xbox Achievements:
And if you haven’t noticed already, the GoldenEye 007 remaster will be an Xbox One game — that’s according to Exophase.
GoldenEye 007 previously launched for the Nintendo 64, and was one of the best shooters of that time. But as for the remaster, we’ll have to wait and see whether these reports are true within the next couple of weeks.
