FIFA 23: EA Says Players Love Loot Boxes in FUT

EA DEFENDS LOOT BOXES IN FIFA 23

EA has defended its use of loot boxes in FIFA 23  ahead of the company’s final FIFA series video game.

Speaking to Eurogamer, EA says players love FIFA Ultimate Team and can’t get enough of the randomized loot boxes.

According to EA, “Fans love that the game reflects the real-world excitement and strategy of building and managing a squad.”

EA and its use of loot boxes have always been a hot topic, and the company is no stranger to controversy as in the past, they’ve been accused of “funneling” players into FUT and spending money.

To Eurogamer, EA continues to say that “spending is entirely optional” in FIFA 23.

FIFA 23 is EA’s last FIFA game before they move onto EA Sports FC next year, and so far, they have not said if they plan to employ the same loot boxes in their new game.

FIFA 23 releases on September 30 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
