With the announcement of the upcoming games arriving on Playstation Plus, a new issue arises. An issue linked to the license of one of the games, which will be completely removed from the PSN.
Loss of PS Plus Games – The LittleBigPlanet 3 Issue
As of 13st October 2024, LittleBigPlanet 3 will be permanently removed from the Playstation Store along with its DLCs. Currently, the title is available as part of the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers, which grant access to a selection of games for free. However, the issue concerns the game’s license.
Downloading the “temporary” version from the Game Catalogue will replace the license of LittleBigPlanet 3, leading to the loss of the game for those who claimed it in 2017 as a Free Monthly PS Plus Game. However, as confirmed by the team on Twitter(X), there is no risk for those who purchased the game before 31st October.

Playstation: How to Protect Your Game Library from Removals
LittleBigPlanet 3 is a unique case, having been announced in April 2024 with the closure of its servers and now facing complete removal from the PSN, likely due to an expiring 10-year license.
To protect your digital library on Playstation, follow these recommended steps, particularly for LittleBigPlanet 3:
- Regularly check the list of games scheduled for complete removal.
- If you’ve claimed a Free Monthly PS Plus Game, check if the game is available in the Playstation Catalogue before downloading it.
- If so, download it via Playstation Plus instead of the Game Catalogue to prevent license replacement.
- To be safe, wait for the game to leave the Game Catalogue before re-downloading it.
- If a game has been replaced with a “temporary” license and removed from your Library, contact Support. Keep trying until you find an agent willing to restore your missing games.
- When you buy the full game, the purchased license will take priority and guarantee future access.
